This film was, first of all, a great responsibility for me. We wanted it to be a testimony for future generations.

We wanted to share with our children and their children as much as we could from our knowledge, from what we know as JPII's generation about the Great Pole, one of the greatest popes in history. There may be many beautiful testimonies, but this one is exceptional, because it comes from a man who was there to see and hear and who served by the Pope's side for 40 years. Globally, the film aims to provide fresh insights to fill the gaps of the rather schematic memory of John Paul II prevalent in the West. We wanted to show the legacy of great values and guidelines for the world left by John Paul II's pontificate.

We've also had a chance to make this movie thanks to the success of the book we published last year, which had a print run of over a million copies. Based on our good cooperation on previous projects, we invited two companies to co-produce the film: Agora and New Cast.

Robert Kijak

Agora SA - co-producer, Special Projects Director

Testimony is an especially important project for Agora. In 2007, we participated in the marketing of the book Testimony, a record of conversations between Gian Franco Svidercoschi with Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz, John Paul II's friend and closest aide. Participation in the production of the book's film version was a natural consequence of our previous involvement.

We believe that this is going to be an exceptional film for historical, emotional, as well as high artistic reasons. We are proud to be able to contribute to its creation.

Jakub Potrzebowski

New Cast / ZenithOptimedia Group and Network Production - co-producer, ZenithOptimedia Group President

We wanted to be involved in the production of a film that has a great chance of becoming one of the most important testimonies of our time. We want to witness important events in the making and the film Testimony is not only a film portrayal of the Pope through the eyes of his friend, but also a monumental work about the twentieth century and its most important events.

As much as we could, we wanted to help popularise Testimony, an investment that has a deep significance and offers broader perspectives than standard productions.
