Born in 1943 in Greece, Vangelis is one of the most renowned contemporary composers, precursor and classic of electronic music. He has released more than a dozen solo albums, including: Heaven and Hell (1975), Spiral (1977), Mask (1985), Voices (1995), and has recorded albums in collaboration with Jon Anderson of Yes, including The Friends Of Mr Cairo" (1981), highly popular in Poland.
He has also composed film scores for leading directors. His filming credits include composing scores for Hugh Hudson's Chariots of Fire (1981, Oscar for Best Music), Ridley Scott's Blade Runner (1982), Roman Polański's Bitter Moon (1992) and Oliver Stone's Alexander (2004).
